If a Thailand Privilege applicant has an oversay on their record, this will be raised as part of their application.
The Thai immigration authorities will assess this during this stage of the application.
If an overstay record is noticed, the Thai immigration authorities will raise this and assess it.
What do you need to submit?
The Thai immigration authorities may request for a copy of the applicants passport page with the following details:
- Period of time the applicant overstayed
- Amount the applicant was fined
- Confirmation of payment and data the fine was paid
Can you be rejected?
Having an overstay does not automatically disqualify an applicant during their background check, provided the following conditions have been met:
- The applicant overstayed no more than once in their lifetime.
- The applicant does not have a history of multiple overstays on their record.
- The overstay period was already paid for and there is no ban in place for the applicant.
By rule of thumb, if the applicant had only one short overstay in the past, then it is not likely that the applicant will be disqualified during the background check.
